Course

The course is certified by the Japan Association of Athletics Federations and World Athletics (AIMS), starting in front of Kobe City Hall, turning around near Okura Beach in Akashi City, and finishing at Kobe Harborland (Kobe Gaslight Street).

Competition Rules

The event will be governed by the 2025 World Athletics Rules, the Japan Association of Athletics Federations Competition Rules, and the competition regulations of this event. In addition, as this event is a WA Label race certified by World Athletics, the World Athletics Label Road Races Regulations will also apply.
In addition, doping tests will be conducted in accordance with World Athletics regulations.

Time Limits

7 hours

  • The time limit is based on the first gun.
  • Checkpoint closure times will be set for traffic, security, and race management reasons. If a runner is significantly late even outside of the checkpoints, they may be encouraged or instructed to withdraw from the race.

Entry Qualifications (excluding invited athletes)

Those born before April 1, 2007

  • Runners are prohibited from transferring their entry rights or asking other persons to run on their behalf. Runners will be disqualified if any impropriety is discovered.
  • Clothing and costumes that violate public order and morals and are inappropriate for a sporting event will not be permitted.
    In addition, athletes registered with the Japan Association of Athletics Federations are prohibited from dressing up in costumes.
  • This event is not open to wheelchair users.
  • A person with a disability who has difficulty running alone may have one escort runner. (One escort runner)
    Disabled people must bring a disability certificate or similar document when registering as a runner (guide dogs, etc. are not permitted to accompany the runner).

Entry fee

24,200 yen (per person)

  • Includes a charity donation of 200 yen (per person).
  • Charity donations will be used by the Kobe Marathon Friendship Bank.

    Applications can be made through JTB Sports Station, RUN JAPAN or THAI RUN .

    *When registering on each website, you will need to agree to the membership terms and conditions.

    Even if your application is complete, if the participation fee is not paid by the specified due date, your participation will not be confirmed and your application will be invalid.
  5. Please note that if you have a disability certificate, you must fill out the application form.

  • Persons with disabilities must bring their physical disability certificate (original).

Awards (Planned)

  1. Overall (gross time): The top eight men and top eight women runners
  2. Age group: 1st to 8th place for men and women in 5-year increments

Certificate of Completion

A completion certificate will be issued to those who complete the marathon. Each person will have to download it from RUNNET.

The 30km marathon is also recognized as a race record, but only for those who are registered with the Japan Association of Athletics Federations and have completed the race.

Personal Information

The organizers recognize the importance of privacy and will handle personal information based on the event's information protection policy in compliance with laws and regulations relating to personal information protection.
Personal information will be used for such purposes as drawing lots, providing information on participation, giving notification of related information, offering services from Kobe Marathon sponsors, co-sponsors, co-organizers and related organizations, giving first-aid treatment and coordinating with medical institutions, and announcing records (including rankings) with the aim of improving services to entrants.
Within the scope of operation of this event, personal information may also be provided to related business entities (including World Marathon Majors LLC, based in the United States, which operates Abbott World Marathon Majors, and the Tokyo Marathon Foundation).

  • Note that the organizers or the Kobe Marathon Runner Call Center may use your personal information to contact you and confirm information related to your application.
  • Participants must agree to the handling of their personal information before entering.

  1. If the event is canceled or reduced due to reasons not attributable to the organizer (warnings, earthquakes, wind and flood damage, snowfall, incidents, accidents, illness, etc.), the entry fee will not be refunded.
  2. Those with underlying illnesses (diabetes, heart failure, respiratory disease, high blood pressure, those undergoing dialysis, those using immunosuppressants or anti-cancer drugs, etc.) should refrain from applying (entering).
  3. Participants' checked baggage will be transported by the organizers from the starting point to the finishing point or relay run relay point.
  4. The organizer will not be held responsible for any delays due to public transportation or road conditions on the day of the event.
  5. It is prohibited to wear or display advertisement-like designs, trademarks, etc. that mean company names, product names, etc. at the event venue (including on the course).
  6. At the event, it is prohibited to bring, operate, or fly drones or similar unmanned aerial vehicles other than those used by the organizers, co-organizers, sponsors, etc.
  7. Posting videos, photos, articles, location information, participants' names, ages, residences (names of prefectures or cities, towns and villages), records, etc. of the event on television, newspapers, magazines, the Internet, printed materials issued by the organizer, etc. Rights and portrait rights belong to the organizer.
  8. Photographs and other materials from the tournament may be sold or exhibited by the organizers or those approved by the organizers.
  9. This event will serve as a qualifying event for the Abbott World Marathon Majors Wonder Age Group World Rankings.
  10. Regarding receipts for participation fees, etc.: If you pay by credit card, no receipts will be issued. Please use the statement or invoice issued by your credit card company.
  11. If there are vacancies among applicants, additional applications may be made to fill unsuccessful applicants.
  12. This tournament shall be held in compliance with all relevant domestic laws and regulations.
  13. Participation in the competition must be done after training sufficiently and taking care of your physical condition, such as undergoing a medical examination in advance.
